I am adorable!

A handsome, young (44 years old) patient told me today......"I have to tell you...you are absolutely adorable! Your husband is a very lucky man." I think all men should always be sedated and then I'd always be super cute.

Thank Goodness for AC!

A year ago we tried to stay cool by opening the windows, which let lots of dirt in the house and putting fans around which just blew hot air around us...along with dirt. We made a decision at that time that installing air conditioning before this summer was a MUST! We got lots of estimates on how much it would cost and made a decision this Winter/early Spring and it is in place and we were SO ready for this 100 degree (plus) weather. We had a portable AC that we used in our bedroom last summer and thought this might be a good time to sell it. We put it on Craig's List late yesterday afternoon and got several calls. The first people that called ended up buying it but I felt SO bad about one of the other callers. He said, "if those people don't buy it we'll pay your full asking price....we have a baby". I felt sorry for them remembering many, many years ago when I was 9 months pregnant with Brenna. We lived in a trailor in MN. and it was over 100 degrees and we couldn't even afford a FAN! It was SO AWFUL! My inlaws ended up buying us a fan and Tom would take me for rides on the back of his motorcycle. The baby bump got in the way but the air flowing by felt so good....even though it was hot, humid air. There was also the threat of tornadoes and a tornado actutally blew away a large part of the trailor park a few weeks after we moved out. It's hot here in Oregon, 102 degrees today but I would not move back to MN!

A Toolbox Full of Movies

As promised here is a picture of my prize! There are 20 movies! Probably not even one that I will watch but Tom is excited. The tool box is neat too. We also stopped at Harbor Freight Tool Company to get some tools to put in "my" tool box which we'll keep in the house. Now I can't win anything for 30 more days.

I am a lucky weiner!

Yes, I've done it again! I was caller number 18 and I won something from a local TV show. Not opera tickets or ballet tickets. I won a tool box full of "guy" movies. I'm assuming it's action packed movies not XXX movies. I am hopeful it won't include any of the Rocky series since I've already won those. Maybe my talent isn't singing or dancing or anything artistic maybe it's actually winning movies that guys are supposed to like? What kind of crazy talent is that? Could I go on TV on the new show "So YouThink You Can Win Guy Movies"? "Guy Movie Winning With the Stars"? "America's Next Guy Movie Winner"? I am going to take a picture of my tool box and post it here on my blog. It will be exciting. How many movies in a tool box?

She fits right in

To anyone who reads Brenna's Blog.....wouldn't you say she fits right in with the rest of the family?

Happy Father's Day!

Brenna came home for the weekend and suprised us! It's so nice to have her closer. Better yet would be across town but maybe that will happen in a few years. We had a "campfire" last night...just out in our backyard. Very similar to camping except when we got cold we just went into the house.

Hmmmmmmmm..........

She has a Super Human Power. What is it?

How pretty!

Yes, we spent some time on Saturday creating a very pretty area in front of our somewhat plain house. It had rocks and flowers and was quite lovely. Murphy decided he liked the nice, cool dirt so he dug himself a couple of holes where his huge body could rest comfortably. He actually transplanted a petunia along with crushing some other plants. He still feels guilty about it.
