Thank Goodness for AC!

A year ago we tried to stay cool by opening the windows, which let lots of dirt in the house and putting fans around which just blew hot air around us...along with dirt. We made a decision at that time that installing air conditioning before this summer was a MUST! We got lots of estimates on how much it would cost and made a decision this Winter/early Spring and it is in place and we were SO ready for this 100 degree (plus) weather. We had a portable AC that we used in our bedroom last summer and thought this might be a good time to sell it. We put it on Craig's List late yesterday afternoon and got several calls. The first people that called ended up buying it but I felt SO bad about one of the other callers. He said, "if those people don't buy it we'll pay your full asking price....we have a baby". I felt sorry for them remembering many, many years ago when I was 9 months pregnant with Brenna. We lived in a trailor in MN. and it was over 100 degrees and we couldn't even afford a FAN! It was SO AWFUL! My inlaws ended up buying us a fan and Tom would take me for rides on the back of his motorcycle. The baby bump got in the way but the air flowing by felt so good....even though it was hot, humid air. There was also the threat of tornadoes and a tornado actutally blew away a large part of the trailor park a few weeks after we moved out. It's hot here in Oregon, 102 degrees today but I would not move back to MN!
